Antennas
HUBER+SUHNER (Herisau, Switzerland) has developed the
SENCITY Road MULTI antenna, which reportedly enables
multiple onboard applications to be hosted in a single antenna.
It was designed specifically for commercial vehicles,
such as buses, trucks, ambulances, forest harvesters and
agricultural machines. The company states that the antenna
groups a number of required elements within one low-profile housing, with single-hole
mounting and easy cabling feed-through. The company also claims that through the
antenna, customers can deploy 4X4 MIMO wireless modules, including the latest cellular
frequencies, as well as up to 8X8 MIMO for Wi-Fi applications.

Infrared sensing
TriEye (Tel Aviv, Israel) announced its proprietary
SEDAR platform. The company's SEDAR
(Spectrum Enhanced Detection and Ranging) platform
leverages short-wave infrared (SWIR) to offer
2D imaging and 3D determinative depth sensing at
a claimed lower cost of other sensor systems such
as lidar. The system reportedly is built on the company's
CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)-based HD SWIR sensor and
delivers an automotive-grade off-the-shelf solution to enhance safety and operating
performance in ADAS and AV autonomous-vehicle applications. The system can be integrated
with existing ISP and AI algorithms and is unaffected by other illumination sources,
including sunlight and light from other devices and oncoming vehicles.

LED drivers
Melexis (Tessenderlo, Belgium) launched the MLX81143
LED driver. It includes 21 LED drivers and improves the
power management of the full system. Melexis states
that the MLX81143 has a wide dimming range that allows
for optimal brightness adjustment during night and day.
The company also claims that the MeLiBu interface
makes it possible to drive up to 3000 LEDs in a car at the
same time and that the system enables dynamic safety warnings and communication
with the driver. The MLX81143 is AEC-Q100 qualified and ASIL compliant and
also meets ISO 26262 functional safety requirements and supports ASIL B integration.
The architecture of the MLX81143 is designed to meet EMC requirements. It
also reportedly exhibits low EMI emissions and high levels of EMI immunity.

Renesas Electronics (Tokyo, Japan),
introduced a 4x4-channel, 76-81GHz
transceiver designed for Level 3 and
higher autonomous driving applications.
The unit was designed in cooperation
with Steradian Semiconductors
(Munich, Germany) the RAA270205 is
reportedly suited for imaging radar,
long-range forward-looking radar and
4D radar, but can also be used for corner
and central-processing radar architectures.
Equipped with 4Tx and 4Rx
channels, the RAA270205 supports up
to 16 MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output)
channels. It can be cascaded
to enable higher channel count and
better radar resolution. The RAA270205
features up to 5GHz of bandwidth, and
a 112.5MSPS ADC (analog-to-digital
converter) sampling rate and a total
power consumption of 1.2W.
