Starflam X-Protect
family of high-performance
PA66 resins
that enhance the
safety of EV batteries
and battery casings.
Ascend states
that X-Protect offers
extreme heat resistance
far beyond
typical flame-retardant polyamides. X-Protect can reportedly
withstand direct flame exposure at 1,100 Celsius (2,012
Fahrenheit) for up to 15 minutes. According to Ascend, this
level of fire resistance provides EV passengers with ample
time to escape from the vehicle in the event of a battery
thermal runaway. X-Protect is reportedly bright in color and
can be molded using the same equipment under similar
process conditions as standard polyamides.

High-speed IC controllers
ROHM
Semiconductor
(Novi, Michigan)
introduced its
high-speed control
IC technology
that reportedly
maximizes the
performance of
high-speed
switching devices.
ROHM states that this technology was cultivated for
power supply ICs and significantly improves the control pulse
width from the conventional 9ns to 2ns. ROHM expects significant
energy savings and miniaturization in a variety of applications.
The new control IC technology incorporates
ROHM's nano pulse control which combines advanced analog
expertise covering circuit design, processes and layouts utilizing
ROHM's vertically integrated production system, making it
possible to step down from high voltages up to 60V to low
voltages down to 0.6V with a single power supply IC in 24V
and 48V applications.

its
FT 8299 low
VOC acrylic
adhesive. The
FT 8299 is
part of the
company's
Core Series
portfolio and
is a double
coated tissue
with a high-performance low VOC acrylic that is intended
for bonding to polyether urethane and skinned foams.
Avery Dennison states that this product meets most automotive
OEM requirements. Typical applications include
automotive interiors (door pillar cloth, carpet fixation, insulation,
arm rests), foam bonding and interior noise, vibration
and harshness.

Linear voltage regulators
Diodes

announced
the AP7387Q
low dropout
(LDO) linear
voltage regulator.
The
AP7387Q features
a maximum
output current of 150mA and an input voltage range of
5V to 60V and a dropout voltage of 700mV (typical) at a
100mA output current. The company claims that this range
provides engineering teams with a simple-to-implement
point-of-load (PoL) solution for automotive audio, navigation,
taillights, transmission control units and battery management
systems. The AP7387Q's quiescent current is 2µA, which is
reportedly essential in systems that are permanently connected
to a battery, helping to extend runtime. In addition,
with a power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of 70dB at 1kHz,
the device is optimized for noise-sensitive functions.
