Fanless computers
Neousys
Technology (Taipei,
Taiwan) announced
its new in-vehicle
fanless computer,
the Nuvo-2610VTC
series. Neousys
states that its unit is intended for off-highway and rail applications
and features M12 connectors for rugged connectivity and
an optional SuperCAP UPS to safeguard against power interruptions.
Nuvo-2610VTC series is available in two additional variants:
the 2611VTC and 2612VTC. The 2611VTC comes with a SuperCAP
UPS in the Cassette module that can sustain system operations
to safely shutdown during power disruptions. The 2612VTC has a
PCIe slot in the Cassette module that can accommodate an AI
accelerator or an add-on PCIe card.

Cable gland
AGRO AG
(Hunzenschwil,
Switzerland) released
an EMC cable gland
that is billed as a reliable
and robust connection
solution for high-voltage systems in EV applications.
The cable gland system reportedly meets all requirements for
use in commercial vehicles and mobile machines where highpower
levels are necessary. The cable glands are available with
short or long connection threads in sizes M20 to M32.
Depending on the thread size, they offer a current-carrying
capacity of up to 195 A without the risk of overheating. At frequencies
of between 30 MHz and 300 MHz, the shielding effectiveness
achieved ranges from 86 dB to far higher values.

UL-approved relays
CIT Relay & Switch (Minneapolis,
Minnesota) is now offering the
J116F1 Series that provides 50A
switching capabilities in a compact
package size. CIT states
that this size is ideal for designs
with tight packaging constraints.
The company states that the series is available with standard
or wide contact terminals for better heat transfer and
can be used in a variety of applications such as buses, forklifts
and golf carts. The relay conforms to IEC61810-1
Reinforced Insulation and withstands up to 8kV Surge
Voltage per IEC61810-7 and are UL F class rated standard
with UL approval.

EV thermal management
Eberspaecher (Esslingen,
Germany) has been working on
some new concepts for battery
thermal management in electrical
construction machinery. A
vehicle-specific heat pump for
both heating and cooling will be
on display at the ConExpo exhibition in Las Vegas. Equipped
with an external exchanger as well as PTC elements, the heat
pump combines thermal management solutions for both the
cabin and the drivetrain battery. The company also offers the
Falkon HVAC family of horizontal evaporators, including two variants
for electrical applications: The fully electrical EHVAC (pictured)
provides 7.7 kW cooling performance and heating power
from 3 to 6 kW, and the hybrid EHHVAC includes a water heater,
PTC elements and A/C for vehicles with hybrid or electric drive.

Inlet metering valve
Stanadyne (Southfield, Michigan)
developed a new inlet metering
valve for diesel common-rail pumps.
The valve was developed to address
applications where corrosion and
dirty fuel can significantly reduce
the life of the valve and pump. The
company's new IMV focuses on resolving
this issue by using corrosion-resistant
components and proprietary
features to prevent large debris from entering the valve.
Stanadyne states that the valve's design allows for quick customization
of both mechanical and electrical interfaces, is costcompetitive
and offers a robust direct replacement for both diesel
engine service and aftermarket implementation.

Rapid charging station
Deutz (Cologne, Germany) reportedly
has received the first volume
production order for its PowerTree
rapid charging station. KTEG, a
manufacturer of specialist construction
machinery, will be the
pilot customer for the first
PowerTree units and will use them
to supply energy on-site for electric construction vehicles.
The PowerTree resides in a 10-ft (3-m) container and can be
transported without use of specialty equipment. The mobile
backup battery with a rapid charging point provides a charging
capacity of up to 150 kW and no specific training is required
to operate it.
