Low-profile antenna

HUBER+SUHNER (Herisau, Switzerland) has developed
the SENCITY Road MULTI antenna, which reportedly enables
multiple onboard applications to be hosted in a single
antenna. It was designed specifically for commercial
vehicles such as buses, trucks, ambulances, forest harvesters
and agricultural. The company states that the antenna
groups a number of required elements within one lowprofile
housing, with single-hole mounting and easy cabling
feed-through. The company also claims that through
the antenna, customers can deploy 4X4 MIMO wireless
modules, including the latest cellular frequencies, as well
as up to 8X8 MIMO for Wi-Fi applications.

Alternative fuel injector
Stanadyne (Windsor,
Connecticut) released a new
alternative fuel injector for medium-duty
and heavy-duty commercial-vehicle
powertrains. The
multipurpose port injector was
reportedly designed for delivering
hydrogen, compressed natural
gas and dimethyl ether
(DME) fuels. Stanadyne claims
that the new low-pressure fuel injector is capable of high flow
rates and has flexible packaging for a variety of PFI applications.
The company also states that the higher flow capacity
and fuel-air mixing features of the new injector permit equivalent
energy-density fuel delivery when compared to traditional
hydrocarbon fuels. Its modular design is based on improved
materials for robust hydrogen, compressed natural
gas and DME compatibility.

Solder paste
Indium Corporation
(Clinton, New York)
and SAFI-Tech (Ames,
Iowa) announced a
new supercooled BiSn
solder paste that utilizes
SAFI-Tech's noheat
and low-heat
solder and metallic
joining platform. The
companies state that
the liquid metal is encapsulated
in a proprietary
soft shell, keeping
the solder alloy in
a sub-cooled (liquid)
state far below its normal
melting/freezing
point. The shell of
these powder-like microcapsules can be removed using a
traditional flux and reflow process or burst by compression.
SAFI-Tech's supercooled BiSn solder paste can reportedly
be fluxed and reflowed at 135°C (275°F). Target
applications include flexible hybrid electronics and heatsensitive
applications currently using conductive epoxies.

Tubular solenoids
Magnetic Sensor Systems
(Van Nuys, California) has
released its S-20-100X
model of pull type tubular
solenoids. The company
states that the
S-20-100X series of solenoids
features 18 different
solenoids to select from
based on the voltage,
duty cycle, force and stroke requirement. The company's solenoid
coils typically utilize Class " F " 23 to 40 AWG windings
with Class " A " insulation for better protection of the solenoid
during longer duty cycles. The S-20-100X solenoids also feature
a 1-in. (2.54-cm) diameter by 2-in. (5.08-cm) long housing
and a 3/4-16 (19-mm) UNF-2A thread for mounting. The
noncaptive plunger or actuator has a diameter of 0.437-in.
(11.09 mm) with a clevis end for load attachment.
