Redline Detection (Orange, California) announced its battery
and coolant leak detector for commercial EVs. The company
states that its BCLD pinpoints leaks in EV battery enclosures,
battery coolant systems and other EV system components
with 100% accuracy to ensure there is no intrusion of water,
dust or other contaminants that could cause a catastrophic
thermal event. This technology reportedly is mandated by
OEMs in 160 countries and is implemented during battery
service and repair, during battery exchange, after any collision
and as normal preventive maintenance.

Conductive polythioether
Parker Hannifin Corp.
(High Wycombe,
United Kingdom) released
CHO-BOND
1018, a two-component,
electrically conductive
polythioether
that acts as a filler, gap
filler or seam sealant
for high-level EMI/RFI
shielding for electronic
systems. The product's nickel-aluminum filler provides corrosion
resistance against MIL-DTL-5541 Type I and Type II coated
aluminum substrates, while its custom-formulated polymer
reportedly provides enhanced resistance to aggressive chemicals
(including de-icing solutions), jet fuels, hydraulic fuels
and other oil products. CHO-BOND 1018 is suitable for any
applications exposed to harsh operating environments. It can
provide a conductive and environmental seal over temperatures
from -62 to +160°C (-79.6 to +320°F).

Eberspaecher (Esslingen, Germany) announced its thirdgeneration
Airtronic heaters and proven Hydronic heaters.
The Airtronic 3 diesel-fueled heater offers 12 or 24 V and
provides a heating performance from 0.85 to 2.2 kW. A 12 V
gasoline version also is available with a heating performance
of 1 to 2 kW. The Eberspaecher Hydronic is a water-based
heater that can defrost construction machinery before use.
During standby mode, the water heaters can keep the engine
warm, which saves fuel and reduces wear and tear. The
Hydronic heater features a power range from 5 to 35 kW.

Brake-control system
Knorr-Bremse
(Munich, Germany)
announced its new
global scalable
brake-control
(GSBC) system.
The company
states that the system
uses a modular
architecture to
reduce the number of components and deliver a future-ready
brake-control platform. Knorr-Bremse also states that modules
can be combined and customized to suit specific vehicle configurations.
The system's electronics and yaw-rate sensors are
integrated into the pressure modulator, and brake-control functions
such as ABS and ESP act as an interface with driver-assistance
systems. The system also features software for electrically
powered commercial vehicles in the form of Electric Vehicle
Motion Control (eVMC), which reportedly optimizes energy recovery
during deceleration and braking.
