(Vienna, Austria)
announced the
Volution 144,
which is a configurable,
safety
certified DC motor
control unit. The
company states
that the 144 can
be used as an independent
power
module with H-Bridge function to control small brushed electric
motors as well as linear actuators up to 750 W. It is
equipped with Infineon's TriCore Aurix TC377 CPU, which is
reportedly designed to fulfill performance requirements of
off-highway and automotive safety applications. The unit is
protected by a compact, automotive-style housing suited for
mobile and stationary applications in harsh environments.

Aftertreatment heater
Eaton
(Southfield,
Michigan) released
a new
48-volt programmable
aftertreatment
heater
controller
for electrically heated catalysts. The
air-cooled electric catalyst heater controller
is part of Eaton's broader 48-volt
electrical system portfolio, which contains
several technologies that allow
manufacturers to integrate 48-volt architectures
in next-generation vehicles.
Eaton's family of electric heater power
electronics controllers are being developed
for solutions between 2 kW and 15
kW of power and operate with up to
99% peak efficiency. The controller is
designed to receive power commands
from the aftertreatment system, provide
soft-start and stop capabilities for assisting
in maintaining system voltage
control and diagnostic feedback of the
heater element.

Hall-effect DC current sensing
Melexis (Tessenderlo, Belgium) launched the MLX91230, the
first product of its third generation of current sensors. The
digital solution brings 0.5% accuracy, reportedly at an affordable
price and in a compact design. It integrates IVT
measurement capability, embeds a microcontroller (MCU) to
offload processing from the ECU and benefits from pre-installed
safety features. The MLX91230 is suitable for EV battery
management and power distribution systems, and it
supports state of charge (SoC), battery state of health (SoH)
and state of function (SoF) in both low- and high-voltage
systems. The sensor is AEC-Q100 and ASIL compliant.

(Livonia,
Michigan) expanded
its
Micronas HVC
family of embedded
motor controllers with the HVC
5223C, an automotive Grade 1 qualified,
fully integrated motor controller to
drive small brushed (BDC) or brushless
(BLDC) motors with a peak phase current
of 2 A. The HVC 5223C comes in a
compact 24-pin QFN package and is
compatible with the HVC 5222C with 1
A peak current. The HVC 5223C also
can drive 1 A or 2 A peak current. The
HVC 5222C and HVC 5223C devices
offer many motor-specific analog and
digital functions, such as phase comparators.
The series also features a virtual
star-point and current sense amplifier
to enable sensor-based and sensorless
control of a single BLDC or up to
two BDC motors and driving of various
other loads.

Piston pumps
Liebherr
(Nussbaumen,
Switzerland)
announced an
upgraded axial
piston pump
for closed circuits.
The
DPVG 140 reportedly
offers numerous updates,
such as its hydrostatic swash plate
bearing that ensures significantly lower
material wear due to the reduction of
mixed friction. The DPVG 140 also features
a version with a special " ELS "
controller with additional valves.
Liebherr states that this ensures the
pump can be switched on and off from
any operating state and can be reset to
a zero position. The modular structure
of the components, including installed
controllers, allows more flexibility for
use in different applications or complete
machine product ranges such as
traction, rotary, winch or drill drives, as
well as shredder main drives.
