Andrea Strzelec, Ph.D., program
director for the Masters of
Engineering in Engine Systems
(MEES) and non-credit
professional development
courses in Interdisciplinary
Professional Programs (InterPro)
at the University of WisconsinMadison,
was also selected as an
SAE Fellow this year. Her 2022
Top Contributor citation reads as
follows:
" Dr. Strzelec is involved in
so many areas of SAE that it
is difficult to describe how
deep the impact she has had,
and will continue to have, on
our volunteers, members,
and staff. Andrea's passion
for SAE is rare and unique.
She is a true leader and a
valuable, trusted member of
our committees. "
The members of SAE's
Contributor of the Year Class are
nominated by SAE International
staff based on their volunteer
and engagement contributions
across SAE's organizations.
Strzelec serves as chair of SAE's
Exhaust Aftertreatment and
Emissions Committee, which
plans sessions and activities at
UPDATE
During the awards ceremony, each honoree is called to the front to receive a

both WCX and the International Powertrain Fuels &
Lubes Meeting. Additionally, she has served as the
vice-chair of the Powertrain Fuels and Lubricants
Activity (Executive Committee) for several years and
assumed the role of chair in April 2022.
In addition to serving in leadership roles for these
two committees, Strzelec is a member of the Engine
Combustion Committee and joins many other
committee calls to assist with planning and
development of sessions, and panels, as well as to
assist with the overall committee management. She
chairs sessions, plans and moderates panels, and acts
as a keynote speaker. n
