read: " In recent years, electrified vehicles (battery or
fuel cell) have attracted significant attention around
the world. These vehicles have the label of zeroemission
and are subsidized by governments as the
next generation of technology; however, there are
debates and divergences across the industry and
academia on the trend of future power system
developments. Some professionals expected electric
dominance while others anticipated diverse power
sources in the future. From the perspective of
sustainability and environmental protection, the
world needs to continuously reduce emissions such
as hydrocarbons (HCs), nitrogen oxide (NOx),
particulate matter, and carbon dioxide (CO2
). There
is no doubt that electrified systems have the
potential to further reduce harmful emissions;
however, the assessment must come from a lifecycle
analysis, including energy generation,
manufacturing, operation, and end-of-useful-life
disposal or recycling. In addition, among the choices
of various power systems, the most suitable solution
