Autonomous machine software
Brigade Electronics (Portland, Indiana) launched its AI
detection camera for the U.S. market. The company claims
that its AI cameras have a range of improved features and
offer enhanced visibility at both the front and rear of a
vehicle. The cameras are compatible with all of Brigade's
HD monitors and MDR digital video recorders and include
Brigade's full range of connectors. The cameras recognize
and alert drivers to pedestrians in a vehicle's front and rear
blind spots. Detected pedestrians are shown in a colored
box overlayed on the HD camera image on the driver's
monitor. Image processing and detected person overlay
are built into the camera.

E-axles
ZF (Friedrichshafen,
Germany) unveiled its
AxTrax 2 low-floor
e-axle for city buses.
According to ZF, the
AxTrax 2 features a
compact design to
help maximize the
available space for
batteries and enhance
design flexibility for the passenger compartment. The unit is
available in two variants with continuous power outputs of
260 kW and 360 kW and peak torque of 16,740 lb-ft (22,696
Nm) and 27,500 lb-ft (37,285 Nm), respectively. ZF states that
the more powerful variant is suitable for articulated buses of
up to 64,000 pounds (29,000 kg) with one driven axle as a
6x2 configuration. Both models feature two integrated electric
permanent-magnet synchronous motors as well as two
separate 800V silicon carbide inverters.

Danfoss (Hanover,
Germany) announced
its software
offering for
autonomous offhighway
machinery.
Danfoss's A+
software consists
of preprogrammed
and pretested
software
blocks built into
its XM100 autonomous
controller
hardware. Each block covers functions such as perception,
positioning and navigation. Danfoss states that the A+
software enables users to add autonomous functionality
by integrating blocks into their machine applications, eliminating
the need to develop software from scratch. The
software is offered in two tiers: A+ Essentials and A+
Advanced. A+ Essentials provides basic software tools and
blocks. A+ Advanced is a paid solution that provides advanced
software blocks and access to future A+ advanced
features and updates.

High-performance plastic
Polyplastics Group
(Tokyo, Japan) announced
DURAFIDE
PPS 6150T73, a highperformance
material
that reportedly delivers
outstanding heat resistance
as well as thermal
and electric insulation
properties for electric
vehicle lithium-ion batteries. Polyplastics states that the material
significantly improves thermal and electric insulation
properties during thermal runaway without the use of inorganic
insulative sheet structures. The material also maintains
the insulation properties of busbars and module covers.
DURAFIDE 6150T73 features a high-purity linear PPS that provides
high toughness and impact strength while also exhibiting
low ionic impurities (extracted components). The material's
color is close to white and it can be tinted.
