Electronics adhesive
Nexperia (Nijmegen, Netherlands) announced its silicon carbide
MOSFETs, the NSF040120L3A0 and NSF080120L3A0,
which are 1200 V discrete devices in three-pin TO-247 packaging
with RDS(on) values of 40 mΩ and 80 mΩ. The
MOSFETs are reputedly suited for industrial applications including
electric-vehicle charging piles, uninterruptible power
supplies and inverters for solar and energy storage systems.
Nexperia states that its SiC MOSFETs also exhibit low total
gate charge, which lowers gate drive losses, and that it has
balanced gate charge to have a low ratio of QGD to QGS, a
characteristic which increases device immunity against parasitic
turn-on. Nexperia also claims these units feature temperature
stability, with the nominal value of RDS increasing
by 38% over a range from 25-175 deg C (77-257 deg F).

PTO units
Eaton announced the introduction
of the 3960, 2500
and 500 series PTO units.
The 3960 fits the Ford
TorqShift 10-speed automatic
transmission and features
a low-profile housing
that minimizes vehicle interference
and allows for easier
installation. A DIN 5462 output
shaft and special output
adapters provide versatility and allow for mounting of highpressure
pumps. The 2500 was developed for low-speed applications
and optimized for fluid pumping. It is compatible
with Cummins Endurant HD, Endurant XD and Endurant XD
Pro transmissions. The 500 Series is a hot-shift, 8-bolt, 2-gear
PTO that fits Paccar TX-8 and ZF 8AP automatic transmissions.
It features pneumatic shifting and can be ordered with
a variety of output types including SAE B 2/4.

DELO
(Windach,
Germany) has
developed a
flexible electronics
adhesive
that permanently
seals
sensor housings
and protects
components
such as image
sensors. DELO
states that its
DUALBOND BS3770 is a flexible product with a Young's
modulus of less than 5 MPa at room temperature. The adhesive
can also reportedly compensate for pressure
changes, such as those caused by temperature changes,
humidity differences or heat input in the reflow process
during production, eliminating defects such as pop-ups or
delamination. DELO also states that DUALBOND BS3770
can be applied by needle dispensing while maintaining
narrow and high bondlines. Curing takes place in two consecutive
steps using UV light and heat.

Hydrogen tanks
Voith Composites
(Garching, Germany)
announced its Type IV
700-bar (10.2-ksi) hydrogen
tank has been
approved for road use
under the guidelines of
the United Nations
Economic Commission
for Europe. The H2
storage vessel Carbon4Tank is intended for
heavy-duty trucks and other commercial vehicles. Voith states
that its Carbon4Tank utilizes materials and processes to enable
automotive qualities and high volumes in production.
The tank reportedly met the stringent performance requirements
to receive certification for on-road service, including
testing for burst pressure, pressure cycle life, fire safety and
component isolation. Voith states that its towpreg-wound H2
tanks are now ready for serial production and that OEMs are
already integrating the tanks into their trucks.
