SAE & MEMBER NEWS SAE Foundation's 2023 report shows the power of community The SAE Foundation's A World in Motion® program helps students find the fun in STEM learning. There's nothing on Earth like a child's excitement. That eye-sparkle and wide openness of a grin shared without inhibition, energy enough to put a nuclear reactor to shame. The SAE Foundation aims to use STEM as an impetus for that enthusiasm, to encourage a lifelong passion for inquiry. And, after reading the SAE Foundation's 2023 annual report, it appears that they're right on track. In 2023, the SAE Foundation's A World in Motion® (AWIM) program reached over 110,000 pre-K to 12thgrade students around the world. By offering 21 unique challenges to inspire curiosity in STEM-from building straw rockets to creating an operational design domain-teachers reported that AWIM participation led to an 82% improvement in science skills and a 96% increase in excitement about learning STEM topics. It's 2 June 2024 no wonder why AWIM received national recognition from prestigious educational awards last year, including two Educators Pick Best of STEM® 2023 Awards and an EdTech Award.
