Employees embrace holistic
wellbeing, donate to Red Cross
In May, SAE staff and members of its affiliated
programs celebrated Workforce Wellbeing Week.
Featuring workshops related to mental, physical,
financial, social, and community wellbeing, this week
considered employee wellness through a holistic lens.
" I've never seen an employer approach wellbeing
like this, " said Emma Hartman, HR associate. " This
pilot event was new for us as an organization, and it's
likely new for other employers in many other
industries. Events like Workforce Wellbeing Week are
important because they underscore the need for a
well-rounded approach to employee wellbeing. "
Between self-care workshops and honest DEI
discussions, employees showcased their community
spirit by participating in an American Red Cross
blood drive at SAE's Warrendale headquarters.
It's been said that SAE standards alone have saved
enough lives to fill a stadium; nevertheless, accidents
happen. According to the Red Cross, someone in the
DEI discussions were held throughout
Workforce Wellbeing Week, underscoring the
important role of inclusivity in maintaining a
happy and healthy workforce.

accident victim may need as
many as 100 units to survive.

participate in the blood drive
made me incredibly proud, "
Hartman said. " It promoted social
wellbeing, as we were able to
gather, laugh, strengthen our
shared values, and enjoy the
experience of giving back to the
community, together. " n
