Lee White is an autonomous trucking and logistics expert with deep
strategy and operations expertise in the AV trucking space.
in the autonomous trucking space, as well as futureminded
fleet members.
" The fleets need to look ahead, " White said. " You
don't just flip a switch and integrate; it takes
months and months in order to get the right
visibilities, to get the right level of understanding
and technicians. "
The need for more fleet technicians is one of the
industry's big open issues, according to White. If
technicians aren't trained, tested, and
certified concurrently with the
development of autonomous
trucks, he predicts it will slow
the technology's adoption rate
and make it more difficult to
scale-a problem not dissimilar
to the lack of EV charging
technicians we're seeing today.
" The future of our supply
chain is going to include AV
trucking, " White said. " It's no
longer an 'if.' It's going to
happen. The question is, who's
going to adopt it, what's going
to be in place for when they
adopt it, and how effectively
they are going to do that in
order to drive the future. "
A basic understanding
of trucking business is
the only prerequisite
for White's upcoming
two-day course, which
will be offered virtually
later this month and inperson
during COMVEC in
September. n
