codes of the vehicle before,
during, and after a crash.
However, accessing and analyzing
this data can be challenging due
to the various formats, protocols,
and software used by
manufacturers. Moreover, the
data may be incomplete,
inaccurate, or corrupted due to
the nature of the collision or the
vehicle's condition.
That's why SAE has partnered
with industry experts to develop
this highly interactive course
where participants have the
opportunity to work directly with
real HVEDR data from various
commercial vehicles. Participants
will complete the course
knowing how to identify the
sources of event data on
different types of vehicles, use
various methodologies and
equipment for accessing and
imaging the data, compile
documentation to establish the
reliability and validity of the
data, properly interpret the data
and understand its limitations,
and analyze the data in the
context of collision
reconstruction.
