Inductive position sensors
Allegro

announced
new inductive
position
sensors, the A17802 and A17803.
Allegro claims that these sensors offer
high resolution of 16 bits, advanced
on-chip harmonic compensation and
integrated diagnostics which are suitable
for use cases such as traction motors
in EVs, ADAS applications and
servo motors. Allegro also claims that
the A17802 and A17803 sensors are
ideal replacements for traditional resolvers
and encoders in motor position
sensing applications. Additional benefits
include stray field immunity, precise
contactless sensing, reliability in
harsh environments and enhanced
safety features.

Adaptive dampers
ZF (Friedrichshafen, Germany) has begun serial production of its
sMOTION Active Chassis Dampers. The system reportedly adapts
damping force to the corresponding driving situation while also initiating
fast vertical movements for each individual wheel, thus actively
lifting the vehicle to ensure optimal roadholding performance. According to ZF,
the system's damper technology is being used in two new models of a German premium
manufacturer. The sMOTION active chassis system is based on ZF's adaptive
damping system CDC (Continuous Damping Control) with two external valves, each
of which independently regulates the compression and rebound direction of the
damper. In this way, damping pressure is optimally adapted to the respective driving
situation, an important quality for driving comfort and dynamics.

Click boards
MIKROE (Belgrade, Serbia) launched Click Shield for FRDMMCXN947,
an expansion device for the NXP development board.
The shield provides three mikroBUS sockets enabling designers
to prototype and develop using multiple Click boards. The NXP
FRDM-MCXN947 development board and expansion shield with
Click boards reportedly suit a variety of applications such as automotive accessories,
consumer IoT and industrial control. Designers can use the unit to develop smart
home, industrial automation or wearable IoT devices by combining sensors, actuators
and wireless connectivity. They can also collect and process data from various sensors
using the Click Shield's expansion capabilities or implement precise motor control applications
leveraging the FRDM-MCXN947's processing power.

IE-Axles
Renesas (Tokyo, Japan) introduced a new e-axle system which
controls eight functions using a single microcontroller. Developed
in collaboration with Nidec Corporation (Auburn Hills, Michigan),
this PoC integrates a motor, a gear, inverter, a DC/DC converter
and an on-board battery charger. Renesas provided key components, including semiconductors
and a reference design for the new 8-in-1 e-axle system. Renesas also plans to deliver
turnkey semiconductor solutions for various X-in-1 systems based on the reference
design verified through this PoC. This PoCincludes numerous Renesas's 32-bit MCU RH850/
U2B for automotive control, a PMIC for the MCU, the RAJ2930004AGM isolated gate driver,
an IGBT module for the inverter, power devices for the DC/DC converter and OBC.

Oscilloscopes
Pico Technology (St. Neots, UK) has enhanced its PicoScope 9400
Series by launching the PicoScope 9404A-25, a high-performance
oscilloscope offering 25 GHz bandwidth on four channels. This
latest addition builds on the existing PicoScope 9400 Series, which
features models with 5 GHz and 16 GHz bandwidths, expanding the reach and capabilities
of this advanced family of oscilloscopes. Pico Technology's unique SamplerExtended
Real-Time Oscilloscope (SXRTO) technology combines the advantages of traditional
real-time acquisition with sampling oscilloscope capabilities. This means the
scope can trigger directly on the signal and can also record pre-trigger data, while also
achieving the extremely high time and amplitude resolution of a sampling scope.
