Battery Analyzers
B&K Precision Corp. (Yorba Linda, CA) offers the BA6010 Series battery analyzers that measure voltage
and resistance and provide auxiliary measurement parameters including inductance, capacitance, dissipation factor, impedance, quality factor, reactance, and phase angle in degrees and radians. The instruments
characterize battery chemistries that are responsive to a 1-kHz AC stimulus signal including lead acid, lithium, and alkaline batteries used in consumer products, electric vehicles, power backup, security, and fire
alarm systems. The BA6011 supports voltage measurements of battery packs up to 300 V and the BA6010 features a 6-V measurement range for
battery cell testing. Both models feature standard RS232 and USB (USBTMC and virtual COM) interfaces.

Uninterruptible Power Supply
The SL LiFePO4 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) from Falcon Electric (Irwindale, CA) features lithium
iron phosphate batteries. The 1- to 3-kVA SL UPS cathode material is a stable chemistry that is not subject
to thermal runaway, making them virtually incombustible even in high-temperature environments. Other
features include a convertible rack/tower design that switches to a freestanding tower, no caustic materials
or dangerous odors, and remote UPS management.

Power Analysis Software
Keysight Technologies (Santa Rosa, CA) introduced KS833A2A Event-based Power Analysis software for
analyzing a device's power consumption, delivering a view of how the device behaves to the subsystem level,
as well as its charge consumption profile. It offers a continuous datalogging mode with measurement and
data collection, enabling users to capture up to eight days of data to understand device behavior and charge
consumption profiles over many operating cycles. The software features the ability to capture the dynamic
current consumption of a device as it transitions among active, idle, or sleep modes with current-ranging
technology from A down to nA. It also automatically calculates battery life based on the charge consumption profile, eliminating manual calculation.

Battery Adhesive
DELO (Sudbury, MA) introduced DELO-DUOPOX TC8686 structural adhesive for batteries used in hybrid vehicles.
Designed for high-volume series production, it is thermally conductive and flame-retardant. The adhesive is suitable for
low-voltage batteries found in mild hybrid and conventional hybrid vehicles as well as in e-bikes and e-scooters. The adhesive allows battery cells to be bonded into a battery's housing while dissipating the heat generated during operation. The
adhesive is designed for temperatures ranging from -40 to +85 °C and tensile shear strength on aluminum of 18 N/mm².
Thermal conductivity is 1.1 W/m*K. It offers a mixing ratio of 2:1 and has a processing time of approximately 30 minutes
after mixing; after four hours, the adhesive reaches its initial strength.

Uninterruptible Power Supply
APC/Schneider Electric (Boston, MA) offers the SUA500PDRI-H industrial panel and DIN rail AC UPS that protects against under voltage (sag) and over voltage (swell/surge), transients, spikes, and unexpected power outages. The small form factor is optimized for mounting within control panel enclosures either on a heavy-duty
DIN rail or directly to the wall of the enclosure. The UPS battery can be loaded in the internal battery compartment or mounted externally. Suited to protect industrial process control equipment, the UPS can provide protected AC power to multiple AC/DC power supplies within the cabinet. Temperature-compensated battery charging
prolongs battery life by regulating the charge voltage according to battery temperature.

Battery Testing Systems
Arbin Instruments (College Station, TX) offers LBT series battery testing systems that consist of independent
charge/discharge channels for testing battery or supercapacitor modules and other energy-storage devices. Each channel provides three or four current ranges with 16bit resolution; any number of channels can be operated in parallel for
increased currenthandling capacity. They come with a PC pre-loaded with MITS Pro and Data Watcher software for creating test profiles, realtime data monitoring, and data plotting and analysis. Auxiliary inputs/outputs are available for
additional data collection or control such as temperature monitoring and additional reference electrodes. The systems
communicate with internal battery management systemd (BMS) via CANBus or SMBus protocols.
