■ Thermoelectric Coolers
Thermoelectric coolers from Laird Thermal Systems, Morrisville, NC,
provide high reliability for demanding thermal cycling applications such
as point-of-care PCR testing. The PowerCycling PCX series is designed to
handle hundreds of thousands of thermal cycles, providing improved
performance and long-life operation in PCR testing applications. It offers a robust construction with
a flexible thermally conductive soft layer to reduce mechanical stresses in thermal cycling applications.
The series extends the mean time between failure (MTBF) of point-of-care equipment and
offers high heat pumping capacities from 13 to 215 W in footprints as small as 15 × 15 mm.

■ LM Guide Actuator
A linear motion guide actuator from THK, Schaumburg, IL, features a
driving element that uses right/left threads and enables symmetrical movements
with a single motor. The Type KR-RL actuator integrates an LM guide and a ball screw.
Because the single shaft is capable of simultaneous right and left drive, it reduces complexity
by eliminating many components from the design. It is designed to handle loads in all directions
(radial, reverse-radial, and horizontal), making it possible to install in any mounting orientation.

■ Positioning Stage
A low profile XY single rail positioning stage from H2W Technologies, Santa
Clarita, CA, uses brushless linear motors to generate a continuous/peak force
of 6.2 lbs [27.8 N]/18.7 lbs [83.3 N] (bottom axis), 3.1 lbs [13.8 N]/9.4 lbs
[41.8 N] (top axis), with a total stroke length of 4.3 in [109 mm] (bottom axis),
4.3 in [109 mm] (top axis). The top axis is able to directly mount to the moving bottom
axis motor, which helps reduce the overall height and moving mass of the system. A non -
contact 1.0-µm resolution encoder allows for precise positioning and rigid recirculating ball linear
bearing provides for smooth guidance and travel.

■ Deep-Drawn Titanium Components
Stüken Medical, Fountain Inn, SC, offers high-precision titanium components
with complex geometries that are produced using deep-drawing
technology. The company's optimized process allows titanium to be deep
drawn over a large number of stations. Previously, precise components
made of titanium could only be produced to a limited extent using deep drawing technology. It
is suitable for pacemaker housings, dental implant sleeves, and similar applications. Products
include deep-drawn parts, stamped parts, plastic injection molded components, and assemblies.

■ Self-Latching Connectors
LEMO, Rohnert Park, CA, offers a modular, ergonomic, rugged and
reliable circular multipole connector for applications needing quick and
secure push-pull latching. The LEMO B connector has modular insert
configurations that include a wide range of high-density multi-pole or
hybrid electrical contacts. Contacts can be of solder type, crimp, PCB straight, or PCB elbow, fiber,
coaxial, thermocouple, pneumatic, fluidic, or even high voltage type of contact. The series ranges
from 00 to 5B size and features the LEMO chocolate design pattern. The connectors are UL listed.

optimized light sensitivity for high frame rates and sub-microsecond exposures. The T3610
achieves significantly higher frame rates of 38,040 frames per second (fps) at 1280 × 800 resolution
and up to 875,000 fps at reduced resolution. T Both the T3610 and TMX 5010 camera models
include features designed to maximize image capture and workflow flexibility, including a 2 × 2
binned mode for higher vertical resolution at the camera's top frame rates.
