Actuator for Heavy Loads
New electromechanical cylinders
(EMCs) from Bosch Rexroth (Lohr
am Main, Germany) are now available
in a high-force, high-precision,
low-maintenance version - the
EMC-HP. Designed for heavy loads
Polymer Bushing Bearings
Now you can add flexibility to
up to 100 kN, the new actuators are robust, compact, and low-maintenance.
Each EMC-HP uses Bosch Rexroth's tried-and-tested planetary
screw assembly (PLSA) to be able to meet extremely high
standards in terms of control accuracy and dynamics. Thanks to a
dynamic load capacity (Cdyn) of up to 189.5 kN, high loads can be
quickly and accurately moved as part of an energy-efficient process
even in complex motion profiles, with axial forces of up to 100 kN
and at speeds of up to 0.83 m/s. The robust and low-maintenance
design of the planetary screw assembly also has a positive impact on
lubrication intervals. Additionally, the seals can be replaced in just
a few steps if required.

Smart CNC Control
HEIDENHAIN (Schaumburg,
IL) has entered a new chapter
in shop-floor-centered manufacturing
by unveiling the new
TNC7. This
standard-setting
CNC control supports users
from initial design to final machining,
from one-off jobs to
serial production, and from simple slots to complex contours.
Beyond its new look-and-feel, the control features high-quality
hardware components including a 24-inch full HD touchscreen
monitor and an advanced, individually adaptable user interface.
The TNC7 enhances familiar Klartext programming with smart
functions and newly developed graphical programming. Users
are able to draw contours directly on the touchscreen and convert
them into dialog-guided TNC Klartext programming code.
Cycles and older contour programs can still be used, including
already existing NC programs. A diverse package of functions,
intelligent probing cycles, and graphical guidance for determining
the position of clamping devices completes the next level of
smart programming.

Advanced Valve System
Emerson (Danbury, CT) announced that its
AVENTICS™ Series Advanced Valve (AV)
valve system with Advanced Electronic
System (AES) Profinet and Ethernet/IP is
now available with preinstalled Open
Platform Communications Unified Architecture (OPC UA) functionality.
The AES helps users solve interoperability challenges and access data
more easily while the integration of the digital twin can improve productivity
and efficiency. A valve system with integrated OPC UA functionality
simplifies communication with upper systems since data and analytics
are received via the valve system and communicated directly to upper
systems, no gateway necessary unless deeper analysis or local dashboards
are required. OPC UA functionality also expands the connected capabilities
of the valve system itself, making it easier for users in industries such
as automotive, food and beverage, packaging, pulp, and paper industries
and more to digitally transform.

Multi-Axis Cobot System
Festo (Islandia, NY) announced the
development of its UR+ certified multiaxis
solution for Universal Robotics
(UR) cobots. The certified UR system
adds up to four axes of motion beyond
the UR cobot six axes, offering precision,
reliability, and longevity. This
solution from Festo lowers customer
engineering time and speeds startup as
it arrives ready to install. No programming
is involved in set up and no additional
PLC is required. Multi-axes are
configured through the UR HMI. End
users simply set position, speed, and
acceleration on the HMI or, using the URCap toolbar, move the axes
in manual mode to configure motion. The multi-axis system features
the Festo Motion Control Package (FMCP) for UR, which is a complete
motion control panel for up to four axis motion. The FMCP is
fully integrated with the UR cobot control panel and HMI and features
a UR safety I/O and communications interface.
