Manifold easily integrates into the
fluidic path of oxygen concentrators, reducing
engineering and assembly time for medical equipment manufacturers.
The manifold features two robust general service valves
that precisely control the flow of air between the compressor and
the sieves. The manifold fastens easily into the fluidic path, and a
barbed port design makes it simple to connect tubing.

n Medical Brakes
Ogura, Somerset, NJ, has released a series
of spring applied brakes for robotics and medical
equipment. The spring applied MCNB-Z
series is zero backlash, which means that loads
can be held precisely when power is removed,
improving the quality of the machinery and
process. This design also incorporates zero
backlash in the rotational direction by removing play between the armature
to the collar. The special construction of the internal brake
results in the lowest possible inertia of the hub and friction disc. This
friction material is bonded to the stationary components.

A low-capacity torque sensor from Sensor
Technology, Wroxton, UK, offers accurate
measurement down to 200 mNm (0.2
Nm) for applications including medical
devices, protheses, and implants. The TorqSense
SGR 510/520 torque sensors cover
capacities from 0.2 to 1 Nm, making the full range 0.2-13,000 Nm. The
SGR sensors can accurately measure and record sudden spikes in torque
load. They measure the torque 4000 time per second and uses highperformance
signal conditioning to provide a corruption-free, high bandwidth
torque monitoring solution. They provide 250 percent overrange
and 400 percent overload capabilities, elimination of side and end load
errors, and real-time temperature compensation.
