n High-Performance Pump
A micro diaphragm gas pump from KNF Neuberger, Trenton, NJ, offers exceptionally low noise
and vibration. This NMP 820 series pump produces a flow rate up to 3.5 L/min. Single- and two-head
versions are available, producing 17.4 psig (1.2 barg) final pressure. Flow rates and ultimate vacuum
for the single-head versions are up to 2.1 L/min and to 330 mbar abs (20.2 in. Hg), respectively. Twohead
versions offer flow rates up to 3.5 L/min and ultimate vacuum to 100 mbar abs (27.0 in. Hg).
The quiet operation of the NMP 820 is particularly ideal for medical point-of-care and medical portable devices, such as negative
pressure wound therapy.

n Cryogenic Deflashing
Cryogenic deflashing with fine blast
media is available from Nitrofreeze® Cryogenic
Solutions, Worcester, MA. Nitrofreeze
cryogenic deflashing is an automated,
computer-controlled batch process
that can remove flash from tens to thousands of molded liquid silicone
rubber (LSR) parts all at the same time. During cryogenic flashing,
batches of molded parts are cooled below LSR's glass transition temperature
(Tg) so that the flash becomes hard, brittle, and easy to remove.
The parts are then blasted with a specified cryogenic-grade polycarbonate
media that comes in different diameters to finish part features without
impacting critical surface tolerances or altering part geometry. This
process is especially efficient at removing flash from cross-holes, blind
holes, and other geometries that are hard to reach with hand tools.

n Cut-to-Length Capabilities
Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special
Metals, Inc., North Haven, CT, has upgraded
its processing capabilities by installing
a new cut-to-length line in its Illinois
facility. The metal service center
can now cut wider widths and lighter gauges than previously available.
The center can now uncoil, shear, and auto-stack sheet with widths up
to 30 in. and gauges as light as 0.004. Alloy products available to be
processed include stainless steel, aluminum, electrical steel, and more.

n Supercapacitor Modules
Double-layer, series-connected electrochemical
supercapacitor modules
are now available from Kyocera AVX,
Fountain Inn, SC. The new SCM Series
modules can be used by themselves or
in conjunction with primary or secondary batteries to extend battery life
and backup time or provide instantaneous power pulses in hold-up, energy
harvesting, and pulse power application. The series exhibits very high
capacitance, very low ESR, high efficiency, high power density, and excellent
pulse power handling characteristics. The modules are rated
for operating temperatures extending from -40° to +65 °C and lifetimes
that extend to millions of cycles. They are also lead-free compatible,
RoHS compliant, and compliant with the UL 810A standard for
electrochemical capacitors.

Vision Engineering, New
Milford, CT, has launched
the third generation range
of ergonomic optical stereo
microscopes. The new Mantis generation range (PIXO, ERGO, and
IOTA), includes improved optics for both hand-to-eye coordination
and excellent depth perception, a three-position turret to house up to
three objectives ranging from 3x to 15x, and the introduction of an 8x
super long working distance lens. Other features include five different
illumination options designed to provide flexibility to optimize the
lighting to view the perfect image and an improved, higher-resolution
camera for image and video capture. The system also features an option
to switch between white light and UV light using a toggle switch.
