hospital- grade
power cord and
cord set for Japan. With a Japanese hospitalgrade
plug on one end, and an IEC 60320
C13 connector on the opposite end of 1.25
mm² VCTF cable, the cord set is ready to use
right out of the box. The newly designed plug
offers more flexibility in manufacturing custom
cord length and color options. The cord
set has a Japanese PSE-approved plug bearing
the " green dot. " Internal stainless steel
clamp rings ensure conductor retention. The
standard color is gray. Customized lengths
and colors are available.

n Battery Connectors
Kyocera AVX, Fountain Inn, SC, has expanded its vertical-mate,
2.0-mm-pitch battery connectors with the addition of new sevenand
eight-position models to satisfy customer demand for higher
signal and current capabilities. These new additions also further
expand its 9155 family of battery connectors. The 9155-800 Series
feature a unique contact geometry that deflects cleanly when a module, mating connector, or
PCB is vertically pushed into position, enabling full vertical engagement in pluggable modules
without the risk of contact damage.

Electric power clamps are available from Destaco, Auburn Hills, MI. Operating
completely without compressed air, the plug-and-play 92 W power
clamps set a new standard for efficient and environmentally friendly production
operations. They reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions. The
control of the electric clamps is decentralized and attached directly to the
production devices. All automation functions can be implemented decentrally.
The power clamps hold workpieces in several positions. No external sensors are required.

can be controlled. The commands are written, loaded, and saved into the controller's memory using
the supplied IDE. The controller is capable of running the commands without need of the host.

n Stepper Motor Linear Actuator
Thomson Industries, Inc., Downers Grove, IL, has released a rotating-nut
stepper motor linear actuator (SMLA) with a rotary encoder as a standard
option. SMLAs use a stepper motor and lead screw shaft to translate rotary
motion to linear motion for all three configurations: linear actuator, rotating screw, and rotating nut.
Previously, designers requiring positional monitoring on either the actuator or rotating screw configurations
had to request a custom encoder assembly. SMLAs with pre-installed rotary encoders are
available in all NEMA motor frame sizes and leadscrew thread forms.
