Here are some general guidelines; for a detailed list, visit http://community.sba.gov. • Tax-deductable contributions must be made to qualified organizations. Most are 501(c)(3). • Tax-deducatable monetary contributions must support the organization, not an individual. • Tax-deductible business merchandise includes additional inventory and equipment. The deduction should be based on current fair market value, or what a typical consumer would pay for it in an open market. If it exceeds $500, you must fill out a Noncash Charitable Contribution Form 8283.
