MGP Ingredients, Atchison, KS, announced that Cloud L. (Bud) Cray will
step down as chairman of the board of directors, effective Oct. 12. Mr. Cray will be

MO, announced the appointment of William P. Mistretta as a director of the company. Mr. Mistretta fills the vacancy left by
James Elsesser's resignation. The company
KVP, Reading, PA, hired Jon Sasala as director of operations. Mr. Sasala will manage the company's production and order
fulfillment operations.
Charles L. Ulie, a science and math teacher
for 30 years at the American Institute of
Baking, when it was located in Chicago, IL,
passed away Aug. 11. Mr. Ulie earned the
nickname "Mr. AIB" from the AIB class of
1977. After the Institute moved to Manhattan, KS, Mr. Ulie worked for American Bakeries, Lansing, MI, and, later, Entenmann's,
Totowa, NJ. Mr. Ulie was 86.
Tom Atwood, president of Ajinomoto Food
Ingredients, LLC, Maywood, IL, passed away
Aug. 17. Mr. Atwood previously worked for
Modern Maid Foods, Uniondale, NY, and
Archer Daniels Midland Co., Decatur, IL,
where he worked with the UN World Food
Program. Mr. Atwood was 61.
