Butterball's turkey deli meats also have jumped onboard the
health trend with American Heart Association certification, as
well as certification from the American Humane Association.

these apply to Butterball's line of naturally roasted chicken
breast as well, also certified as a heart healthy food by the

Reser's Fine Foods never disappoints show attendees when
it comes to having a booth presence on the show floor. From
the displays to Matt Kenseth's Cup car, the Reser's display
steps up every year. All the typical side items plus more,
including a number of new offerings makes Reser's a major
player in the deli and foodservice departments. With the
recent purchase of Creative Fresh Foods, Reser's delved
into the artisan side dish with the new artisan macaroni
salad, among others. The Reser's Mac 'n Mashed bar for food
service also contains the new flavors of Southwest Queso
and Buffalo Style mac and cheese.

Hormel's Fiamma Fire Braised Meats give retailers a premium
offering for serving consumers that look for that something
extra. The meats are seared over an open flame and braised
slowly for a unique flavor and texture. Created by Hormel to
draw in the customer looking new experiences in flavor, the
Fiamma line covers turkey, ham and roast beef. But Hormel
also enters into the arena of foodservice this year.
Rather than just offering deli products, Hormel now offers
retailers its Deli by Design program. Rather than just offering
products, Hormel will leverage their internal foodservice
division and engage retailers in a conversation to better create
custom programs to fit each retailer's specific needs. Whether
retailors want just a few new products or to transform the deli
into an instore restaurant, Hormel's Deli by Design program can
help through a collaborative effort with the individual store.
McCain Foods gave retailers a one stop shop for all foodservice and deli needs at this year's Dairy-Deli-Bake expo. McCain
provides a multitude of products in cheese, jalapeno, onion,
vegetable, pickle, wraps and rolls, sweets, potato, breakfast and
gourmet categories with new items in jalapeno, onion, wraps

American consumers snacking throughout the day between
smaller snack sized meals continues to trend upward. This
year's expo showed this with a number of products in the
snack category. The biggest player seemed to be scoop shaped
chips in different variations that allow consumers ease and
efficiency while trending toward a healthier variety. From
pita chips to corn based snacks, many companies on the
show floor offered gluten and GMO labeling in an effort to gain
market share within the health and wellness movement.

SPECIALTY CHEESE
Cheese producers looked to incorporate intense flavors into
their cheeses this year at IDDBA. From proteins to spicy additions, cheesemakers explored new flavor options that are sure
to pique the interests of consumers. Cheese producers also
continued to focus on making products more "snackable" and

convenient for customers with active lifestyles.
Burnett Dairy introduced three new cheese products at this
year's IDDBA, all of which focus on enhancing snacking
occasions. The cheese producer's String Cheese is aimed
