CHS realigns business organization
and leadership for future growth
ST. PAUL, MINN. - CHS Inc. announced it has realigned its business
organization and named executive leadership for its business segments.
As part of the moves, CHS will realign its businesses into four operating
divisions - Processing, Ag Business,
Energy and Business Solutions - and
two supporting Finance and Shared Services divisions, each led by an executive
vice-president. The changes will take effect Jan. 1, 2005.
Previously, the company was divided
into five business segments: Agronomy,
Energy, Country Operations and Services, Grain Marketing and Processed
Grains and Foods.
The executive vice-presidents and
their new responsibilities are:
* Jay Debertin, executive vice-presi-

dent and chief operating officer, Processing. Mr. Debertin will be responsible for
the company's oilseed processing, wheat
milling and Ventura Foods, L.L.C.
* Mark Palmquist, executive vicepresident and c.o.o., Ag Business. Mr.
Palmquist will be responsible for grain
marketing, CHS country operations,
as well as maintaining the company's
relationship with Agriliance, L.L.C., a
distributor of crop input products 50%
owned by CHS.
* Leon Westbrook, executive vicepresident and c.o.o., Energy. Mr. Westbrook will lead the company's refined
fuels, propane and lubricants business,
along with related transportation, sales
and marketing functions.
* Thomas Larson, executive vicepresident, Business Solutions. Mr. Lar-

son will be responsible for Ag States
Agency, Country Hedging, L.L.C., and a
wide range of financial services. In addition, he will work with member services,
communications, public and governmental affairs and the CHS Foundation.
* John Schmitz, executive vicepresident and chief financial officer. Mr.
Schmitz will be responsible for legal,
risk management, finance, accounting
and internal audit functions.
* Patrick Kluempke, executive
vice-president, Shared Services. Mr.
Kluempke will be in charge of leading
corporate planning, human resources,
information technology, building and
office services. In addition, he will assume responsibility for the company's
Mexican food business.

ADM celebrates 80 years on N.Y.S.E.
NEW YORK - G. Allen Andreas, chairman
and chief executive officer of Archer Daniels
Midland Co.; on Dec. 20 rang the closing bell
at the New York Stock Exchange, marking 80
years that the Decatur, Ill.-based company
has been listed on the exchange.
"The past 80 years that we have been listed is testament to the sustainability of this
company," Mr. Andreas said. "Although

the face of agriculture has changed over the
course of our history, ADM has played and
continues to play a vital role in agriculture,
an essential component of the economy. We
remain focused on building the global franchise as we continue expansion into new
markets here and abroad."

80 years ago, the company had nine plants

Sysco Corp. buys
broadline food
service distributor
HOUSTON - Sysco Corp. announced it
has acquired Springfield, Ill.-based Robert's Foods, a broadline food service distributor that supplies customers throughout central Illinois and portions of Indiana,
Wisconsin and Missouri. Financial terms
of the transaction were not disclosed.
"This acquisition provides a strategic
fit with our broadline growth efforts in
central Illinois," said Richard J. Schnieders, chairman and chief executive officer,
Sysco. "The associates at Robert's Foods
possess tremendous market knowledge
and their customer service commitment
is unparalleled. We are excited to have
them as part of the Sysco team."
Founded in 1916, Robert's Foods operates a 58,000-square-foot distribution
facility and employs approximately 85
workers. Robbie Robert, grandson of
found Henry Robert, will continue as
president and c.e.o. of the company.
Sysco is the largest food service marketing and distribution organization in North
America, providing food and related
products and services to approximately
400,000 restaurants, health care and educational facilities, lodging establishments
