Formulator - Key Accounts
SUMMARY
Provides formula development for new products and modifications on existing products that are manufactured
by BakeMark USA. The primary product categories are bakery mix and pastry fillings. The activities of the
Formulator includes formulating sweet goods mix, base and concentrates, formulation fruit fillings, cream style
fillings, troubleshooting product complaints, write application instructions, assist R&D with the new product
process and provide technical expertise to the sales and technical staff. Based on project needs, this position
may require travel to work directly with a customer in the product development process.
Provides weekly updates for the Business Development Team on the status of product development including
estimated development time, resources required and probability of success.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college and a technical baking school. Successful
experience formulating bakery products; and 2 to 3 years related wholesale or commercial baking experience and/
or training; or equivalent combination of education and wholesale or commercial baking experience.

Must have been certified by at least the RBA baking programs, prefer AIB master baker certification. Must have
understanding of commercial and wholesale baking processes and equipment.

TECHNICAL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE
Provides technical expertise on BakeMark manufactured
products for the BakeMark Sales organization. The activities
of the Technical Services Representative (TSR) include product
demonstrations, product recommendations, sales support and training. The TSR are a
resource to support the achievement of sales goals. It is the TSR's responsibility to provide
customers with technical services as well as training and guidance for the assigned Sales
Representatives Group with the objective to reach budgeted manufactured product sales
and increases for their assigned group.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical baking
school; and 4 to 5 years related wholesale or commercial baking experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and wholesale or commercial baking
experience. Additional AIB training would be beneficial. Must have been certified by
at least the RBA baking programs, would prefer AIB master baker certification. Must
have understanding of commercial and wholesale baking processes and equipment.
Must have a valid driver's license in the State where they reside.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish/Cambodian) is a plus.
MS Office knowledge e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Research the Internet
for formulas or other industry-related information, e-mail, attachment of files.
Regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift 50 lbs (over head,
middle and low) from the floor, a table or a shelf. Lift up to 50 pounds and be able to
carry and hold this load on a semi-frequent basis and be able to turn with it and set
it at a multitude of different height levels for storage and display purposes. Keep up
with the average manual production speeds required in an average bakery environment.
Scaling, forming, cutting, shaping finishing of baked goods, pastry and cakes.
Require traveling an average of 50% of the annual work time.

*Perform process quality tests
* Monitor production practices, e.g., lot coding, sampling, HACCP

Qualification and Experience:
Microbiology, Wet chemistry, Computer proficiency,
including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and computer
driven analytical equipment
Bachelor's Degree in related science from an accredited college or university and four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education/training
and experience. Bakery industry experience, Six S,
TPM, and Kaizen a plus!
