$11 million plant was opened
only three months ago.

a report from the American embassy in London states.

Germany's anxiety to obtain
additional supplies of grain in
Hungary and the Balkan countries is hardly consistent with
official claims that the Reich
has enough grain on hand for
two years.
Lewis C. Rice, founder of the
Rice Baking Co., Baltimore, and
father of Emory C. Rice and

Baltimore after a short illness.
He was 81 years old.

Reports received from Berlin Oct.
27 stated that Russia had agreed
to furnish Germany 1,000,000
tons of soybeans from Manchukuo, the supplies to be moved
over the Russian state railways.
Germany claims that the soybeans will assist greatly in solving the food supply program.
The British bakery trade has
been considerably deranged by
the evacuation program from
the industrial areas. Scores
of thousands of women and
children have been taken from
these areas into districts less
vulnerable to German air raids.
