STUNNER TESTER

BioSafe Systems introduces GreenClean Pond Block. This
proprietary blend of naturally occurring bacterial strains
and enzymes is formulated to increase water quality and
clarity. GreenClean Pond Block works by reducing excess
nutrients in ponds that are generated by organic debris,
livestock and fish waste and fertilizer run-off while also
improving the overall health of the pond ecosystem. One
5-lb. GreenClean Pond Block can treat up to 5 acres/feet
of water for 30 to 60 days. The GreenClean Pond Block
reduces available ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and phosphate
and it improves dissolved oxygen levels.

ROBOTIC PALLETIZER
Douglas Machine recently
integrated their Stratum
robotic palletizer that picks
and places 50-lb. cases of
powdered cheese. The Stratum uses a Fanuc robot with
an end of arm tool capable of multiple case sizes without
manual adjustments. Douglas also integrated a close
coupled automatic stretch wrapper to stretch-wrap the
pallets. Douglas Machine Inc. specializes in automated
secondary packaging solutions for paperboard, corrugated
and shrink film, in addition to the design and manufacture
of cartoners, sleevers, case/tray packers and shrink-wrap
systems.

FOOD TECHNOLOGY CENTER

MOLECULAR
DETECTION ASSAY

Following recent upgrades at the Linde Food Technology
Center in Cleveland, Ohio, engineers from Linde LLC
can now perform higher-volume and longer test runs
to validate performance of new cryogenic processes
for crusting, cooling or fully freezing foods. Foods can
be trialed at the technology center on state-of-the-art
Linde freezers including the patented CRYOLINE CW
(CRYOWAVE) IQF freezer which keeps items separate on
the conveyor belt as they are individually quick frozen.
The Linde Technology Center can also run mini-batch
freezer trials and demonstrations for spiral freezers and
nitrogen immersion freezers, the fastest way to freeze
products.

The 3M Molecular
Detection Assay 2 kits,
enhanced with a proprietary 3M nanotechnology, provide
customers with a streamlined workflow that simplifies
their pathogen testing. All four assays - Salmonella,
Listeria, Listeria monocytogenes and E. coli O157
(including H7) - use a single assay protocol, enabling
batch processing of samples and improving efficiency in
the laboratory. Compared to first-generation tests, assay
processing time is 30 percent faster and instrument run
time is only one hour for E. coli O157 and Salmonella.
Combined with short enrichment times these features give
customers flexibility in their testing that allow them to
make critical decisions faster.
