VALVE POSITIONER
Spirax Sarco announces the
release of the EP500, the first ergonomically designed
electropneumatic valve positioner. This positioner offers
outstanding accuracy and industry-leading reliability
with an ease of installation, calibration and operation.
The EP500 has a cast aluminum enclosure that is suitable
for outdoor installations. It utilizes simple force-balance
control technology and can be mounted onto pneumatic
actuators with strokes between 10 mm and 70 mm. With
two gauges to indicate the supply air pressure and the
output pressure to the pneumatic actuator, zero and span
adjustments are easily accomplished.

STAND-UP POUCH
MACHINE
Until now, pouch machines
have either been capable
of producing a variety of
pouch formats but limited
to speeds of 50 to 100 pouches per minute, or fast with a
fixed format. That is all set to change with the introduction
of the new PFM DX series PFM Packaging Machinery.
The key to the machine's combination of very high speed
and flexibility is the integration of the XTS (eXtended
Transport System) from Beckhoff Automation. This has
eliminated the complex mechanisms and adjustments
normally required to change pouch format. Any format
within the machine's capability can be programmed then
selected from the HMI and changes in pouch transport are
made automatically.

DELIVERY APP
CAT Squared announced the
release of its new Direct Store
Delivery (DSD) app for mobile
devices. DSD provides route accounting, inventory
control, mobile point-of-sale and delivery functionality.
The app integrates into a company's ERP, CRM and WMS
systems reconciling financial and inventory data. DSD also
provides an easy method for resolving incorrect orders
or customer disputes. If a customer disputes the weight
labeled on the product or needs to change the order,
the driver can record variances with an explanation and
process order changes along the route. DSD saves time
and provides complete traceability of product through the
delivery process.

RETRACTABLE BARRIER

The MGS-7.5KVA-8O transformer
from Larson Electronics provides
a safe and effective way for plant
operators to utilize power sources
independently of the work area. This
unit provides an effective power source for operators
performing plant turnarounds, maintenance and cleaning
in hazardous areas, equipment installations and repairs,
and any activities requiring an alternative to native
power sources. This unit is weatherproof and ideal for
use in applications including but not limited to, plant
maintenance and hazardous location operations.

The new GuardRite Retractable
Barrier is a modular and selfstoring barrier system that can
withstand up to 30,000 lbs. of impact at 4 mph, making it
ideal for guarding rail docks, finger docks, wide loading
and flatbed loading areas, as well as protecting sensitive
equipment and pedestrian areas. The GuardRite system's
core component is a 10-in. tall barrier that can stand alone
or be incorporated into an OSHA-compliant removable
safety rail system. The barrier consists of an 8-in. diameter
sleeve, which fits into a 10-in. core-drilled hole, excavated
20½-in. deep. The impact-absorbing polyurethane sleeve
surrounds a 3½-in. diameter bollard. The barrier unit is
gas-spring assisted and can easily be raised or lowered
flush into the floor with an operational tool.
