2020 Lifetime Achievement Award
Frank Petersen, CRC
Retired/Consultant
In a career that spans more than 45 years, Frank Petersen has
worked in a number of roles. He started his career as a grocery
chain deli manager and went on to work for Marriott Corporation
as a general manager in the business and industry division
for 13 years. He began R&D work when hired by Schwan's
to develop products for a new venture division. From there,
he took on varied product development positions with
companies including Cargill, J&B Group, Buddy's Kitchen
and an upscale grocery chain. Petersen finished his career at
Taher Food Service Inc. He is now retired, serving as a product
development consultant.

the RCA and its members. Being part of RCA and becoming
a Certified Research Chef (CRC) has truly made a significant
impact on my career. The educational offerings, the professional
networking and the support of RCA has allowed me to pursue
many new opportunities in the food industry."

Griffith Foods
Chef Girik's nearly 20 years of experience
includes roles in product development
at Unilever, flavor applications at
Givaudan and a blended role of product
development and culinary at Griffith
Foods. He pioneered Culinology at Griffith
Foods US as the first Certified Research
Chef (CRC) within the company. He
then helped develop and train six CRC
candidates and eight Certified Culinary
Scientists (CCS) at Griffith Foods.
