Attendee comments following the course indicated the meeting was a success, with many
citing equipment demonstrations and hands-on
use of equipment as being especially valuable.
"I really enjoyed seeing all of the machinery," said
Samantha Caudill, Savor Seasonings, Batavia, OH.
"It was really helpful for me to get an idea of how it
all works."
For many attendees, a session on problem
solving was most beneficial. Others enjoyed
discussions of snack processing, chipping potatoes, oil, shelf life and plant sanitation as being
especially helpful.
"I really enjoyed the fats/oils presentation," said
Alicia Sexton, Wyandot, Inc., Marion, OH. "It gave
me some ideas I hadn't thought of. The potato
presentation was great as well. And I really enjoyed
meeting everyone."
"The monthly presentations are a great tool
for all our departments and team members," said
Scott Green, vice-president of sales and marketing
for Pretzels, Inc., Bluffton, IN. "We generally have
personnel from our specific department in which
the presentation is tailored, as well as our sales
force. The webinar format is very instrumental in
allowing all of our departments to communicate
and understand better the needs when developing
new products and marketing protocols."
This year, webinars covered topics such as
the Food Safety Modernization Act, genetically
modified organisms, Facts Up Front labeling,
snack food nutrition and labeling, and more.
