intended for use in potentially explosives atmospheres.
All the chain conveyors for reception and silos loading
have a capacity of 200 tph.
The thick waste is collected in a separate area in big bags
or removed with mechanical paddles. The fine waste is redirected with tubular screws to an elevator and sent to two
LL4750/6 silos through a conveyor.
The light waste produced by filters, deriving from the suction of machines and cleaners, is sent to a LL4750/6 silo
through a pneumatic transportation device. The chain conveyors for waste loading have a capacity of 30 tph.
All three LL4750/6 silos have a diameter of 4.75 meters,
cylinder height of 7.02 meter, total height of 7.93 meters and
a capacity of 124 cubic meters, for total storage capacity of
372 cubic meters.
A weighbridge along with the flow scale and the load cells
positioned under the CR quick vehicle loading silos, permit the
control of the entering and exiting quantity of product and the
quantity of waste thrown away. Bucket elevator model ET75/33
provides loading of 200 tph.
The two quick-loading silos, model CR3700/7, have a diameter of 3.74 meters, cylinder height of 5.86 meters, total
height of 11.72 meters and a capacity of 62 cubic meters for a
total capacity of 124 cubic meters.
The whole plant is managed via an electrical panel with PLC
control. Total cost of the project, including civil works, was
$19.5 million.
UKRAINIAN OIL CROP PROCESSING
FACILITY ADDS BEHLEN STORAGE SILOS
GradOliya Ltd., an oil crops processing facility in
Kirovograd, Ukraine, recently added more than 60,000 tonnes
of storage capacity and grain handling equipment. The facility
handles sunflower and rapeseed.
Ukraine-based The Adept Group carried out the supply and
installation steel silos and grain handling equipment from
Behlen Mfg. Co., Columbus, Nebraska, U.S. Work was completed from March 2012 to August 2012.
During project development, modern requirements for the
52
organization of technological processes in grain storage and
processing were considered, as well as the conditions of operation of the facility and its ability to expand.
Advanced methods of construction and project management were used to optimize the time and budget of the facility,
and eliminate the impact from fluctuations in the price of steel
and construction materials.
Construction was done with a consideration for minimizing consumable metal. The equipment was assembled in a
way to ensure the minimum length of sections within regulatory requirements.
Each of the three Behlen corrugated steel silos with internal
stiffeners, model 32x25, have a diameter of 32 meters, height
to the eaves of 25 meters and a total height of 33.87 meters.
Capacity per silo is 22,267 cubic meters for total capacity of
62,454 cubic meters.
Other equipment installed included bucket elevators with a
dump height of 22.5 to 51 meters, en-mass conveyors, a portable temperature control system, and electric and manual gate
valves. Total cost of the project was $3 million.
BULGARIAN SUNFLOWER COMPANY ADDS CAPACITY
Grain Systems, Inc. (GSI), Assumption, Illinois, U.S., added
another European project to its portfolio with a new Bulgarian
partner. ROSA, a joint stock company for the purchase and processing of sunflower, recently added to its grain storage and
handling capacity at its facility in Popovo, Bulgaria. The company produces vegetables, sunflower expeller, sunflower meal,
hydrated sludge, fatty acids and sunflower husk briquettes.
In its first project with ROSA, GSI provided bins, hopper
tanks, cleaning machines, material handling equipment and
support structures. The total capacity of the material handling
equipment is 135 cubic meters while total grain storage capacity is 46,530 cubic meters.
GSI installed the following equipment:
• Two bins with an eave height of 14.68 meters and height
to peak of 22.3 meters. Each bin has the capacity of 9,992
cubic meters and the unload is in a tunnel via a silo discharge
gate package.
