a giant leap with the installation of
two 500-tonne-per-day mills that were
brought into production in July 2005.
This additional capacity brought the total installed capacity of the company to
1,610 tonnes per day.
"Today Honeywell's milling capacity has increased by over 1,200% while
total investment is estimated at N50 billion ($250 million), Jaiyeola said.
In June 2006, the company launched
Semolina. "This has been a huge success
since its introduction and is today adjudged by consumers as the leading semolina brand in Nigeria," Jaiyeola said.
In an effort to further maximize value
from its value chain and as a forward integration strategy, the company launched
its own brand of noodles in 2006 (initially as "O! Noodles" and later relaunched and re-branded as "Honeywell
Noodles," with improved seasoning and
packaging). Honeywell Pasta (spaghetti
and macaroni) and Honeywell Wheat
Meal were all launched in 2009. All the
brands have been well accepted by consumers and have been growing rapidly.
"Honeywell's milling capacity increased by 1,205% - from 200 tonnes
per day in 1998 to 2,610 tonnes per day
in 2012 - while total investment is estimated at N50 billion ($300 million).

This includes the mills A to F, warehouse with arox racking systems, silo
equipment, gas and diesel generators,
pasta plant, noodles plant and pneumatic ship unloaders," Jaiyeola said.
All of the investments in state-of-theart equipment over the years are part of

Honeywell Flour Mills Plc was the

company's procedures and investments
are all designed and made with quality in mind. "Quality is in our DNA,"
Jaiyeola further stated.
"It employs state-of-the-art facilities
for the production of its various brands
and has a technical partnership with
Bühler AG of Switzerland for the installation and maintenance of its mills and a
supply partnership with Mühlenchemie
of Germany for the supply of additives."

reports that Nigeria's annual wheat milling capacity is about 8 million tonnes,

The Managing Director of Honeywell
Flour Mills Plc Lanre Jaiyeola told World
Grain in a recent interview. "Thus, in
1999, the company embarked on a remodeling of the wheat mill to a 360-tonneper-day mill. This project was completed
satisfactorily in May 2000."
In November of 2001, Honeywell
commissioned an additional 250-tonneper-day facility, which increased the
company's installed capacity to 610
tonnes per day.
