Lambton meets customers'
demands for 50 years
WALLACEBURG, ONTARIO, CANADA -
Lambton Conveyor Limited has always strived
to meet customer demands, but as it approached
its 50th anniversary, the company decided to go a
step further.
The Florence, Ontario, Canada-based company now has become a one-stop solution for
grain handling operations, offering grain storage, material handling and drying and cleaning
equipment. With its 50-year anniversary this
summer, the company isn't stopping there.
"We're a sound company. We've been in
business for 50 years and continually growing, with a recent investment in new facilities,
new state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, new quality control measures, new
more, all to meet our customer demands,"
said Ric Depooter, executive vice-president.
The company, founded by Ray Moorhouse, was established in 1965 as a construction business. Lambton started distributing
grain storage in 1979, and by the 1980s it
was manufacturing grain handling equipment and had developed a full line of chain
conveyors and bucket elevators.
By the 1990s, the company had become
an original equipment manufacturer supplier, producing equipment for other grain
equipment suppliers.
Today, Lambton provides an ever-expanding line of practical products, including silos, bucket elevators, drag conveyors, grain
cessories, bin unloaders, bin dryers, hopper
tanks and custom fabrications. Lambton uses

Almost all of the equipment produced
by Lambton is fabricated using galvanized
steel, which ensures a long service life and
are also available in stainless steel and
painted mild steel.
Through the years, Lambton has remained
a family-owned business at a time when
mergers and acquisitions in the industry
have become commonplace. With changes
in the industry, it was time for Lambton to
expand its offerings, said Christian Jordan,
vice-president of sales and marketing.
"With all of the acquisitions happening
among grain handling equipment suppliers,
it's making more and more sense to become

a one-source provider," he said. "We're not
an acquisition. We're just growing organically, and we have been able to say yes to
customer demands."
While North America is a big focus for the
company, it has expanded into global marresentatives in more than 25 countries, a new
200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility
in Ontario and another in central China.
To expand and strengthen its global reach,
Lambton has invested in new personnel in
key regions. The company recently hired
Sandra Dixon as director of global business
development for Latin America. She will play
a crucial role in the growth and development
of the company's Latin American markets.
The company also added Nick Johnson as
director of global business development for
Europe, the Middle East and African markets.

company's goal is to double its capacity and
market share. To reach that goal, Lambton
will draw on the successful strategies of the
last 50 years, including saying yes to customers' demands and being a "one source,
one solution," Jordan said.
"The company's reps still treat customers
as though they are family and give them the
tools they need to succeed," he said. "Whether it's helping to establish or strengthen engineering guidelines, offering assistance with
trade shows, or simply being there to support
the customers' needs, Lambton offers a complete package of products to its customer
base, regardless of where they are located."
