Jackson returned to college, this time as a business
administration student at Thaddeus Stevens College
of Technology. " I thought it was a great opportunity.
I was able to play, go to school and still help my dad
at work. "
The business administration associate degree he
earned when he graduated from Thaddeus Stevens
College in 2002 helped Jackson grow the family
business, including expanding its manufacturing
capacity.
" We needed to take the 1960's style business into
the modern age. Everything was done by hand and
paper. We needed computer skills and accounting
background to understand how to invest in the
business, " said Jackson. Using what he learned
in the business administration program, Jackson
standardized product fabrication processes, and
developed ways to improve efficiencies for project
bidding and billing.
" My number one responsibility is setting my team up
for success, " says Jackson. " Every job is different, but
we are working on ways to streamline the processes
and create a common language to make things more
routine within the company. "
Faculty Spotlight
What makes you proud of your students?
My students work hard every day and give 100 percent. They
understand the value of the education they earn at TSCT, and are
willing to make the most of it.
Do your students stay in touch after they graduate?
Yes, many of my students visit and speak to current students, some
are even part of our advisory board. I always enjoy hearing what our
students are doing and celebrate in their successes.

What is the most rewarding part of your role at TSCT?
The most rewarding part for me is seeing students be successful
after graduation. It is wonderful how each student takes the skills
they have learned and applies them to their careers so they can be
successful at whatever it is they choose to do.
