Congratulations to the
students and faculty who
worked on this year's new
home construction project
at 1930 Edington Place.

14 The Tower

T

his year's project features
an open floor plan with 9'
ceilings and crown molding,
along with a custom open stairs
with wrought-iron spindles.
Masonry was highlighted this
year, showcasing a full front
exterior and custom interior
brick accent wall. The basement
is finished and highlighted
with a custom bar showcasing
stonework and a bar top
fabricated by Rude Design +
Build. The master bath, complete
with custom tile shower and
heated floor, provides upgraded
plumbing fixtures including
body sprays in the shower. The
bathroom also features a unique
sliding barn door. The house is
furnished with a custom kitchen
and solid 3⁄4" hand-scraped
hickory hardwood throughout

For the second year in a row,
the housing project won the
following awards at the Building
Industry Association's Parade of
Homes 2018:
* Best Exterior
* Best Kitchen
* Best Bathroom
* Best Landscaping
* Best Decorated
* Best in Show
Also, for the second year, the
house won the Fulton Bank
Award. The Stevens-built home
was up against all other multifamily homes that entered in the
$200,000 to over $500,000 price
range.
