GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION OFFICERS

lease join us in welcoming the students highlighted below to their new leadership roles on campus within our
Student Government Association (SGA). The College's SGA is advised by our Office of Student Services, holds
regular meetings during the school year, and works to impact meaningful change and engage with our College
community through inclusive programming.
AIDED BALBUENA, PRESIDENT
Major: Mechanical Engineering Technology
" I am Aided Balbuena, and I graduated from Kennett High School. I like to play soccer
and be involved in everything. What I love about Thaddeus Stevens is the history of
the school, the community, and the new bonds we are able to make. I look forward
to being SGA president because there is so much that was shut down because of
COVID-19, and I want to bring those programs back. Also, everyone has a voice and
everyone should be heard, so I want to make sure that everyone's voice is heard. "
SAMUEL ZIMMERMAN, VICE PRESIDENT
Major: Electro-Mechanical Technology
" I'm originally from Pittsburgh and now live in Hanover. I'm a retired Delaware Valley
Hockey League Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League hockey player. I played for 10
years. What I love about Thaddeus Stevens is the hard work and dedication he put into
his life and his successes. I ran for SGA because I want to make this school a better
work environment where students can be successful and create opportunities for
themselves. I would like to help make the school better and more professional, a place
where people become successful and they do great things in life. I would like to help
inspire students to strive for success and to not give up on their goals at Thaddeus
Stevens and in life. "
ZAHARA FLOWERS, SECRETARY
Major: Welding Technology
" I was born and went to high school here in Lancaster, PA. I enjoy drawing and painting
and plan to pursue a career in the arts after learning my trade at Stevens. What I love
about Thaddeus Stevens are the people I was fortunate to meet, and the hands-on
teaching approach. I look forward to working with my other SGA members to make
the next two semesters the best they can be. My goal as secretary is to bridge the gap
between the student body and executives, and fight for the changes we wish to see. "
PAGIEL TORRES, EVENT COORDINATOR
Major: Electro-Mechanical Technology
" I'm from Brooklyn, NY. I like getting into new things and broadening my horizons.
Interesting fact: I took and passed my motorcycle license test during a tornado warning.
The thing I like about TSCT is how easygoing everyone is and how you can spend time
focusing on yourself and just as easily meet some cool people through the different
programs and clubs here. "
