while working on hands-on projects
that put their acumen into action.
He says it is evident his classmates
are in the program to work hard
and learn the needed techniques,
and you can see how much they
care about excelling in their craft.
Zach says this has helped make the
overall experience more enjoyable,
knowing he's not in it alone but
is well supported by his peers.
Zach is known for his ambition,
and he's not afraid to take initiative.
He put those traits to use this
summer, first by building a deck for
his neighbor and then by starting
a general contracting business.
As he began to put the pieces in
place to launch and manage his
business, Zach says he was so
grateful for his instructors' guidance
while he was learning the ropes.
He is already seeing the benefits
of his education play out since he
established his company before
graduating. Zach finds it valuable to
discuss the challenges he faces and
ask questions of his instructors.
" My current professor, Mr. Byers,
he's been great. Yesterday, I stopped
into his office and asked him about
taxes and how he did things when
he was running his own company.
I was in there for about 30 minutes.
The instructors are so willing to
share their knowledge, " Zach said.
While he's loved his time at Thaddeus
Stevens College, Zach has his eyes
on graduation as he hopes to grow
his business, buy a house, and launch
fully into the career he has spent time
cultivating. He also looks forward
to using the skills he's acquired at
the College to invest in real estate
and flip houses in partnership with
family in the future. Zach's life is
full of plans partly made possible
by his time at Thaddeus Stevens
College in his growing program.
