Local construction company Nan Inc. presented a check for $1 million to St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii in December. The gift, which was made at the Foundation's holiday reception, will be used to support the 119-bed Clarence T.C. Ching Skilled Nursing Facility on the St. Francis Liliha campus. This is the second major donation earmarked for the skilled nursing facility. The Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation gave a lead gift of $4 million when St. Francis announced its plan to open a skilled nursing facility last year. The first phase of the project is estimated to be about $10 million. Architects Hawaii Ltd. is the architect, and Allied Builders System is the general contractor. Design work is being finalized and renovation will begin when appropriate permits are obtained.
