ContractsAwarded The new year started with two developments that mean good news for Hawaii’s construction industry. January’s top job worth $5,054,910 for Molokai Airport improvements including taxiway paving was awarded to Goodfellow Bros., boosting the month’s total to over $18 million. And, more good news is on the way. The Army is expected to accept bids on March 2 for phase one of a new project at Wheeler Airfield worth up to $100 million over the next three years for a combat aviation brigade complex. With more phases to come, this promises to be a huge undertaking and suggests that Hawaii is destined for future military growth rather than cutbacks.
