NewsMakers AHFI Names Stockholder/Directors Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing (AHFI) has announced that William W.L. Yuen, Judy A. Tanaka and Thomas E. Bush have been named stockholder/ directors of the firm. Yuen is a nationally recognized municipal bond attorney. Tanaka and Bush both serve on the panel of court-appointed arbitrators for the Hawaii Court Annexed Arbitration Program. Yuen practices in the areas of real estate development and land use planning law, corporate and securities law, public finance law, energy law and banking and financial services law. Tanaka, who joined AHFI in 2011, practices in the area of commercial, real estate and construction litigation as well as transactions, including entity formation, commercial leasing and contracts. Bush practices in the areas of commercial litigation, probate and trust litigation, personal injury, real estate and construction litigation, and franchising disputes. Avalon Promotes Steven Kothenbeutel Avalon Development Company, part of Honolulubased Avalon Group, has promoted Steven Kothenbeutel to RevoluSun Hires Julie Lawrence vice president of development. With Avalon for eight years, he was initially a market and financial analyst and lately senior project manager. He has been directly responsible for over 600,000 square feet of development in Hawaii, and has consulted clientele with assets from $10 million to $200 million. Most recently, Kothenbeutel was instrumental in securing and developing the Social Security Administration Built to Suit development. He also was the senior project manager for the Plaza at Mill Town Business Center, a 30,000-square-foot retail and office complex near Waikele. Gary Marshall Returns to Architects Hawaii Gary W. Marshall, AIA, has rejoined Architects Hawaii, Ltd. (AHL) as director of the healthcare architecture team. During his previous tenure with AHL from 1979-1985, Marshall's projects included the Kaiser Honolulu Clinic, the Queen Emma Tower at The Queens Medical Center and the Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center. Marshall also has worked on several healthcare architecture projects on the Mainland and Great Britain. Lawrence is responsible for educating and working with residential and commercial customers to achieve energy independence by designing custom solar systems and finding the best financing options available to meet their needs and take advantage of government incentives. Lawrence earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mount Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles. She also holds a postbaccalaureate certificate in special education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Teri Orton New GM for Convention Center AEG Facilities, in charge of operations at the 1.1 millionsquare-foot Hawaii Convention Center (HCC) since Jan. 1, has hired Teri Orton as the new general manager. A 17-year hospitality industry veteran, Orton previously was vice president of condominium resort marketing for the Hawaii-based Outrigger Enterprises Group.
