ConceptToCompletion Hale Makana O nanakuli A Vision Underway Owner: Hawaii Community Development Board Principal Partner/Developer: Urban Housing Communities LLC General Contractor: Shioi Construction, Inc. With the vision of providing affordable multifamily rental housing on Hawaiian Home Lands in Nanakuli, Oahu, the Hawaii Community Development Board (HCDB) formed a partnership with affordablehousing developer Urban Housing Communities LLC (UHC) as the principal partner to develop Hale Makana O Nanakuli, a 48-unit project. Shioi Construction, Inc. was selected in October 2012 as the general contractor and began work on December 17. The project includes four three-story apartment buildings, plus a community resource center.
