Hampton Inn
Comes to Kapolei
The first Hampton Inn & Suites
in Hawaii joins the growing roster of
tenants at Ka Makana Alii, the 1.4
million-square-foot regional shopping
mall, under construction in Kapolei.
Work begins on the 175-key hotel this
summer. As of press time, DeBartolo
Development has not announced the
general contractor.
Grading and grubbing activities
for Ka Makana Alii are completed.
The first phase of the center, which
includes more than 750,000 square
feet of retail, dining, entertainment
and hotel space, including the
Hampton Inn & Suites, is scheduled to
open in 2016.

Featuring more than 150 new
shops and restaurants, a movie theater,
and LEED-certified office space, Ka
Makana Alii will be Hawaii's newest
mall and the first regional shopping
center to be built in more than 30
years. The center's tenants include
Macy's, Forever 21, H&M and three
Gap Inc. brands.
Moss Named GC for New Kauai Supermarket
Moss & Associates, formerly
known as Hunt Building Co., has been
named the general contractor for a
10,000-square-foot supermarket at
the new Kilauea Lighthouse Village on
Kauai.

Hunt Companies, developer of the
new Kilauea Lighthouse Village, has
signed a lease with the Sullivan Family
of Companies to open a grocery at
the development. The Sullivan Family
of Companies, operators of Foodland,
Food Pantry and the Kalama Beach
Corp., will open The Market at Kilauea.
Construction is expected to begin on
Kilauea Lighthouse Village this summer
and on The Market at Kilauea in 2016.
"We are thrilled to partner with the
Sullivan Family of Companies to
help introduce a new supermarket
to the island of Kauai," said Jose
Bustamante, vice president of
Hunt Companies' Hawaii division.
Kilauea Lighthouse Village will
be a 50,000-square-foot mixeduse town center development in
historic Kilauea Town, 1.5 miles
from the Kilauea Point Lighthouse.
The Market at Kilauea will be
the anchor store among a mix of
businesses and essential services
such as a bank, pharmacy,
fitness center, restaurants, small
retailers and office space to
provide improved convenience
and quality services for the community. Live-work units with
living quarters above groundfloor business spaces will also be
integrated into the town center.
