Kauai’s Koloa Landing Opens Wyndham Hotels and Resorts recently announced the completion of the first phase of Koloa Landing at Poipu Beach Wyndham Grand Resort, with a grand opening event scheduled later this month. Built by general contractor Layton Construction, the first phase consists of 85 villa residences, lagoon pools, fitness center and marketplace and upscale sundry shop. The project broke ground in June 2008. The next phase of construction is scheduled to begin in May this year, starting with the main pool component. At full buildout, the resort community will include 322 one to four-bedroom residences, all of which will be appointed with high-end exotic hardwoods and stones, gourmet-style kitchens with top-of-the-line appliances and granite countertops and custom artwork. Amenities will include a central pool with a water slide, hot tubs, cascading waterfalls and a swim-through grotto; a poolside bar and grill; covered parking and semiprivate elevators to each front door. The resort is owned by Poipu Beach Villas LLC and being managed by Azul Hospitality Group. Besides Koloa Landing, there are only 25 other properties in the Wyndham Grand Collection.
