Sunetric, which will maintain its management team, brings more than 90 employees to RGS Energy, which is based in Louisville, Colo. "The extremely high cost of utility power in Hawaii has made it one of the most attractive markets for solar systems in the U.S., and this has led to the highest penetration of solar systems in the country," says Kam Mofid, CEO of RGS Energy. "As a result, Hawaii leads the industry in important areas such as grid integration and is key to the evolution of solar combined with energy storage. We are eager to participate in this vibrant market and benefit from significant opportunities ahead." Watts-Healy Tibbitts Lands NAVFAC Pacific Job Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific awarded an $18.6 million firm-fixed-price task order under a multiple award construction contract to Watts-Healy Tibbitts A JV to build a dry dock waterfront facility at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The Watts-Healy Tibbitts joint venture was one of four bids for the task order. Work is expected to be completed by December 2015. "Pearl Harbor is pivotal to operations in the Asia-Pacific Region," said NAVFAC Pacific Commander Rear Adm. Bret Muilenburg. "The award to construct a dry dock waterfront facility reinforces the significant requirement for ship-repair capabilities to support ongoing and mission-critical work of the Navy in this area of responsibility." Construction includes a new low-rise waterfront facility, concrete slab-on-grade and pile supported foundation. The project includes shop spaces, meeting/conference rooms, break rooms and administrative, engineering, project management and project team spaces. The work will also include site preparation, civil work, electrical utilities and mechanical utilities. In addition, communication and information technology work, including duct work distribution system, cabling and manholes will be performed.
