ContractsAwarded April Showers Contractors with $61M in Awards The Department of Transportation awarded $29,071,228 in contracts in April and the City and County of Honolulu awarded another $16,692,056 to boost the total for the month to $61,394,847. And though April’s awards were $33 million less than in March, the amount pushed the YTD total to $290,150,606. By comparison, award totals were $125.6 million after the first four months of 2012. The contracts for this April topped that of April 2012, which came in at $54.2 million. Road & Highways Builders, LLC claimed the biggest contract, $13,636,636 for street work in the Maunawili, Olomana, Pohakupu and Enchanted Lake areas on Oahu. Jas. W. Glover, Ltd. landed the second-largest contract, a $10,595,000 job on the Big Island to make improvements to Hawaii Belt Road in North Hilo.
