NewsMakers Tim Matthews recently was promoted to vice president of King & Neel, Inc., a locally owned and operated independent insurance agency. Originally from North Carolina, Matthews joined the firm in 2007, bringing with him 15 years of diverse global construction-related safety experience. He is a certified safety professional and active with various safety and construction organizations. Sean Spencer has been promoted to assistant vice president of King & Neel, Inc. Spencer has been with the firm since 2008 and has become an invaluable asset in the areas of business insurance, employee benefits, self-insurance group programs and construction bonding. He is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and an alumnus of the University of Hawaii (UH). Grant Murakami, AICP, LEED AP BD+C has been promoted to vice president of PBR Hawaii & Associates, Inc., a land and environmental planning and landscape architectural firm. Murakami has served as project manager and urban designer for many projects in the Pacific region. This includes the UH West Oahu Campus Long Range Development Plan, the Waipahu 2000 Update, and Kamehameha Schools Maui and Hawaii campuses. Kimberly Lord, SCSM, CMD has rejoined CB Richard Ellis as managing director for institutional services. In this newly created position, she will be responsible for the integration of services throughout the Hawaii region to meet the needs of property owners/investors. She will oversee the delivery of all institutional services, which includes asset services, project management, capital markets and agency leasing. Tom Hoen has been named senior project manager for Rider Levett Bucknall. Of Hoen’s 30 years in the industry, 28 of them have been in Hawaii involving projects on all major islands. His expertise is in project management, from inception of a project, developing a project team and managing the process through to construction completion and delivery. Nathan Papini has been named project manager for Rider Levett Bucknall. He has more than five years of project management experience, with expertise in construction management, design coordination, contract administration, permitting, scheduling and account management. Papini previously worked as an assistant development manager for Marriott Vacation Club and oversaw construction of the Ritz Carlton Club and Residences at Kapalua Bay.
