The capital campaign is raising funds for the rebuild of Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Hawaii's only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. "During a recent tour of the hospital, we immediately recognized how this project will allow Kapiolani to meet critical current and future needs for Hawaii's young patients and families," Business Manager Reggie Castanares said. Citing Kapiolani's plans for the larger, private neonatal and pediatric intensive care rooms that are a key element of the rebuild, he added, "Parents who must stay for long periods of time with infants and children requiring urgent care need privacy. We're blessed to be in a position to support the hospital's expansion, assuring that Hawaii families will benefit in the coming years." Martha Smith, CEO of Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, said, "Hawaii's Plumbers and Fitters Union has a long history of giving back to the community and we are honored to be among its many beneficiaries.
