Waterman's Academy Ikaika Waterman's Program is set up to perpetrate Hawaiian Waterman and give our youth a pathway to take those skills for personal excellence through to athletic excellence, representing our country, assisting College entrance and competing internationally. Ikaika's athletes work on goal setting, time management and decision making, along with their physical training to dream, plan and achieve their best. With the focus on elite coaching, equipment and individualized programming, our programs are a great opportunity for new watermen ages 7-14 through to our Elite Gold Squad. It starts with the Waterman's Academy which is a week of fun, safe instruction in Outrigger, Surfski, Kayak, SUP and Paddle Boards. The SILVER Squad is offered for those wanting to focus on improving their school results in kayaking and paddling, or their overall fitness with training up to 3 times a week on their individual needs. The next level of the champion training is the GOLD Squad. These athletes train up to 10 times a week, preparing for the national trials in kayak, and the Kanaka Ikaika, Paa Races and the Molokai on surf skis and one man canoes. The Ikaika programs support and guide them through the decision-making process and the opportunities available to now kayak, paddle and row into college or on national teams.
