Dr. Desir: ACR Convergence promises to

What new programming has been
added to the meeting lineup?
Dr. Desir: We are thrilled to announce the
return of two highly anticipated features:
the Meet the Professor sessions and the
ACR Ultrasound Conference.
The Meet the Professor sessions
provide a unique opportunity for
attendees to engage in small group
discussions with leading experts
on various topics, including RA-ILD,
reproductive health, vasculitis, and more.
These sessions are designed to facilitate
in-depth learning and personal interaction
with pioneers in the field.
The ACR Ultrasound Conference is
also back, addressing a critical gap in
our community. Since the onset of the
COVID-19 pandemic, opportunities for
specialized training have diminished,
making this conference especially

rheumatology, " said Annual Meeting
Planning Committee (AMPC) Chair
Gregory C. Gardner, MD, MACP. " We
take the role of a scientific meeting
seriously. It is a unique gathering of
colleagues from all over the world
to share science and inspire the
next generation of clinicians and
researchers. "
Networking Opportunities and Interprofessional
Focus Set ACR Convergence Apart
he unique programming and broad
cross-section of healthcare professionals in
attendance differentiate ACR Convergence
from other rheumatology meetings.
Engaging with colleagues across the
interprofessional team working on behalf
of people living with rheumatic diseases is one of
the primary draws for attendees. That has been
true for Association of Rheumatology Professionals
(ARP) President Aileen Ledingham, PT, MS, PhD,
since she first started attending the annual meeting
of the ACR and ARP more than a decade ago.
" Attendees should expect to gain a renewed
enthusiasm for fostering networking, " Dr.
Ledingham said. " We are convinced that it's an
important piece to the educational element of the

profession that you have conversations with people
who are like you and, even more especially, who
are not like you, who are from different aspects of
rheumatology. "
As the president of the ARP, Dr. Ledingham
highlighted for ACR Convergence Today
sessions and activities at ACR Convergence
2024, which will take place Nov. 14-19 at the
Walter E. Washington Convention Center in
Washington, D.C., that will be of particular
interest to members of the
interprofessional team.
Networking opportunities
are a top priority for many
attendees, she said.
